Artist: Michael Li

Work: Bian Zhong - Hung in a memorial park in my home town Wuhan, China

The Bian Zhong is a classical Chinese musical instrument that has been a part of our culture for thousands of years. A set of the bell ensemble can be up to 65 individual pieces range in size from 8 inches to 5 feet tall and can weigh a total of over five tons. This picture captures ONE bell from a unique perspective. This piece of art work is an 8x10 black and white lustre high quality photo mounted on white matte board with a 11 x 17 black frame.

Michael Li was born in China, and now resides in Irvine, CA. He runs his own automotive wheel business, DPE Wheels. The brand reaches all corners of the world from Australia to Asia to Europe; not to mention a good following in the windy city as well. This allows him ample opportunity to pursue other hobbies such as photography. Michael’s photography work not only anchored the marketing strategy for which DPE wheels is established upon, some photographs were also submitted for use by Getty Images. For supporting Thodos Dance Chicago’s “New Dances”, Michael is more than happy to donate his work for the art auction fundraiser in order to help and promote talented artists in the dance community.
