Jon Sloven, originally from Denver Colorado, began his formal dance training at Colorado College where he received his BA in Economics with minors in Music and Dance. His dance career ignited at the University of Arizona where he earned an MFA in choreography and performance, receiving the Most Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award. Jon's professional career has spanned from Denver to Chicago to Kiel, as a company member with Same Planet Different World, Winifred Haun & Dancers, and Wats-on-Dance. His time with Kim Robards Dance allowed him the opportunity to perform at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Jon is an internationally recognized teacher throughout the USA and Germany as well as a flourishing choreographer, most recently creating works for Ballet Nouveau Colorado, Colorado College, and the preprofessional dancers of The Joffrey Ballet Chicago. This is his first season dancing as a performing trainee with Thodos Dance Chicago.
