Reaching young minds through dance education is vital to Thodos Dance Chicago.

As a teaching company, members of our highly trained ensemble hold BAs and MFAs in dance, and teach at elementary through high school and university levels. We are the resident dance company at the Menomonee Club in the growing North/Clybourn corridor which offers recreational and enrichment activities to children in pre-kindergarten through 8th grade, where the Company has recently formed its first youth ensemble.

Thodos Dance Chicago performs at many local schools, and is pleased to have been selected to serve on the roster of Urban Gateways, which brings performing arts to public schools in the city of Chicago. A special program, “Dance: Ideas in Motion,” offered through Urban Gateways is designed to introduce students to the basic concepts of dance, choreography, and human movement.

The Company works closely with schools to customize programs to suit their needs, offering a wide variety of master classes, residencies, lecture/demonstrations and choreographic workshops, often in conjunction with performances.
